Why are we all wearing masks? Not to please the government, I hope.

“Christ, not Caesar, Is Head of the Church”

This was said by Grace Church on July 24, 2020.

The sad truth is that this is true right now for the majority of American churches.

Caesar (government) is ruling the church.

In some states, you are not allowed to sing in church (cough, cough, California) because of the risk of spreading the virus.

The state is not supposed to have any power over the church, right?

We have first amendment rights to protect us from the state but some churches are being subjected to these mandates without a fight.

We Need To Listen…

You can make the argument that we need to listen to the state’s laws.

I understand why you are saying that and I agree with you.

We should obey the state, but to what measure?

If our Christian liberties are being taken away we need to stand up.

Biblically, we can do this.

The church and its appointed elders needs to be able to make wise decisions on behalf of their congregation.

Right now Christians are starting to see what America will be like if nothing changes.

There are states that have allowed giant casinos to open at 50% capacity and churches at only 50 people.

The bible says we supremely listen to God and then to the state only if they abide by biblical law and order, (Romans 13)

The Church

The church is absolutely priceless, it is where Christians go to bring glory to their Creator.

Our Creator is who we need to take all our fear to Him day or night.

Bayard Black a follower of this blog, commented on what we need to do about the time we are in, “Repent of our sins. Pray that the Church would repent. Pray that the Nation would repent. Rest in the peace only Jesus can bring. Don’t worry God’s got this. All part of His perfect plan.”

Bayard is right the only way America will stay standing is if we pray.

Also, I heard from Generations, a podcast by Kevin Swanson, a great way that churches should operate.

In the church, there should be colored bands we put around our wrists to let other people know how we feel about this “pandemic”.

A red band would mean we want everybody around us to wear a mask and to stay 6 feet apart.

Second, a yellow band is saying that we are not as concerned but still be careful.

Lastly, a green band means we don’t care how far away from us you are or if you wear a mask. Just be normal.

I thought that this was a great way to respect other people without all being forced to stay 6 feet apart and to wear a mask.

Don’t Leave

Thank you for reading this post.

In these times of trials, our only hope and answer is God.

I pray this will help you better understand what is going on in this crazy world.

  1. I love Kevin Swanson, but i didn’t know he was so creative! I love the idea of the colored wristbands, and i will take it to the elders of my church as a suggestion! Thanks for the post!

  2. Great intro into the Church and the government and where do we stand as Christians. One point of correction is that the idea of the wrist bands was discussed on the generations radio program, but it was not actually Kevin Swanson’s idea. Another good scripture to remind Christians of during times like this is 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.” Nice Job Austin

  3. Love it, nice work. We just had a sermon on this week. You should also check out the letter John McArthur sent to the state of California about rendering what is Caesar’s to Caesar. But the church is not Caesar’s. Keep up the good work!
