Recently in Congress, a Representative ended a prayer with, “amen and awomen.”

Why in the world would someone end a prayer like this? Well you know, the word “Amen” has no meaning obviously and is not gender-inclusive at all, right?

Sadly, the Democratic Party has very few morals left and are adding or changing words just because of how it is spelled. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-MO., opened in prayer for the 117th congress, and then ended it with a new ending. His attempt to genderize the close of his prayer shows that he was not actually trying to close his prayer out of respect, but so Emanuel could make a point.

What Does “Amen” Really Mean?

The word amen has absolutely nothing to do with a man or men, it is actually a common way many Christians close in prayer. This word is found in the Bible over 100 times and is used for the most part to close a reverent statement about God. “To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. [Emphasis Added]” Philippians 4:20. The word “amen” means, truly, certainly, or so be it.

Amen as a word originates from the Biblical Old Testament. Some of the first recorded cases in which it is used are when the congregation of Israel were required to say it in response to what Moses and the Elders said(Deuteronomy 27). Amen comes from the Latin word āmēn, which then comes from the Greek word ἀμήν (āmḗn) and then its original biblical Hebrew word is ʾāmán.

What Does “Awomen” Really Mean?

Nothing! Just because you put an “a” in front of a word does not mean it will magically have a meaning. In the future, I don’t know if even democrats will be able to say “amen” or “awomen”. In the same congress session (117th) Nancy Pelosi banned all “gender” names. This will greatly hinder each representative’s ability to be clear when proposing something or asking a question.

The terms that were banned include, “father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, half-brother, half-sister, grandson, or granddaughter”.

Don’t worry though because you can still use all of these words to make yourself clear, “parent, child, sibling, parent’s sibling, first cousin, sibling’s child, spouse, parent-in-law, child-in-law, sibling-in-law, stepparent, stepchild, stepsibling, half-sibling, or grandchild”.

With all of these new limited terms, it will be exponentially harder to understand one another thus slowing everything down naturally. Just looking at these words I myself would just give up when explaining a family relation to someone in the house. For instance, “Alex was the half-brother of Sam.” This is simple enough but now let us look at it with the “new rules”, “Alex was the half-sibling of Sam”. From the first sentence, we know that both are brothers, in the second we only know they are siblings, we don’t know if he is a boy or if she is a girl. This was a very basic example, imagine what a complicated one would have turned out like.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood…”

No sane human would ever come up with ridiculous ideas like this, nor could they ever predict a year like 2020. Think of last year, we never knew what was going to happen the next day, but God did. He knew this whole year would happen, the riots, the media, everything. Our petty little squabbles He sees and He sees the evil rulers of the world plotting against him and He laughs. We are no match for Him, do we dare even speak one word against him?

God gave us an instruction manual that applies to everything, the Bible. In it, the Bible tells us that we should not have faith in politicians for they do not fight with the Spirit they fight with their hands. And fighting something you can not see with your hands usually does not turn out well.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 (ESV)

  1. Thanks this is great! It is also so sad how these people are acting and continue to spiral downhill! Yet we know God is in complete control!!!

  2. “And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.” Romans 1:28

Unfortunately this is not exclusively a Democrat issue, but reports like this should be signs to us that God is turning people over to their own sinful, debased minds and therefore creating chaos as His form of judgement. God is a God of order so those who reject God will be turned over to disorder. We all need to fall on our knees and Repent! Thank you for the post.

  3. Thanks for being Straight forward. not sugar coating. “Nothing! Just because you put an “a” in front of a word does not mean it will magically have a meaning.”

    like that.

    1. IDK if this will help but I am hoping you know who this is when I say
      with the blinking eyes.
